Deoband on birthday celebrations

This is a post to make people understand that Deoband is a body which is trying to control Islamic ideology in one or another way. Issuing fatwas is a call for change in the religious practice and this should not be announced every now and then without understanding the importance of the issue.

Darul Uloom Deoband has been announcing fatwas for the benefit of the Muslims of India, be it logical or illogical.

Hope you remember the fatwa, which was given on the polio drug intake. This institution had announced that Muslims of India should avoid getting their children to the polio camps. They should not encourage polio medicine, which the government is providing to all the children free of cost. The logic behind that fatwa was, ‘The government is using special drug for the Muslim kids to kill the reproducing power and thus the population of the Muslims will fall if the kids take polio medicine provided by the government polio camp’.

In the latest fatwa announced by the same institute, "Muslims should not follow the tradition of western culture of celebrating birthdays as it against the Shariat law," Vice-Chancellor of Darul Uloom Deoband, Maulana Abul Kasim Naumani said.

I have some questions for the learned VC Maulana Abul Kasim Naumani:
Why are you celebrating the birthday of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)?

Why should the government allow the birthday of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) on Id-e-Milad as holiday in the country on 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal?

What is his view on the celebration of the wiladat (birthday) of the Holy saint across India?

Where is it mentioned in the Shariat Law that celebration of birthday is prohibited?

On the occasion of the birthday celebration of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, the founder of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), this query was raised and the VC of Darul Uloom Deoband, just announced a fatwa without understanding anything or reading the life of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.

Contradicting the fatwa announced by the VC of Darul Uloom Deoband, The All India Ulama and Mashaikh Board (AIUMB)–leading body of Sunni Sufi Muslimsrejected the fatwa

According to the General Secretary of AIUMB Maulana Syed Ashraf Kichhouchhvi, “Celebrating of the birthday of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is the day of celebration as Allah has blessed the humanity by sending in His last missionary on Earth”.

  1. FATWA has become a common practice for DEOBANDI MAULVIS. THESE SO CALLED LITERATE SUNNI COMMUNITY HAS CRAMMED QURAN AND TRANSLATED IT ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN WAY AND FORTUNATELY THEY ARE ABOVE THOSE MAJORITY SUNNI MUSLIMS WHO THEMSELVES HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIER RELIGION. THUS THEY BLINDLY FOLLOW THIER LEADERS.
