knows all but delivers the best"— My entry to the Get Published contest.
Love
is a word which is easy to be pronounced but very difficult to keep the honour
of this word. Nowadays, to say, “I love you,” is like an illiterate person is
using grandiloquent words without knowing the meaning of the same. The ethical
values have deteriorated and so has the meaning of relationship, be it any
relation, but love–the purest–is worst hit.
God
knows all but delivers the best,
is a real-time love story from the land of Ganga which is a city said to be the
gate to eternity—Allahabad. It is story of a young boy who is made to respect
the ethics of life, though being educated as per the need of the hour; still
the values entrusted in him were as firm as rock and as pure as the Holy water
of Ganga—which is never contaminated by anything. It is the love story from
the land of Ganga where it is said that sacred union of the rivers Ganga,
Yamuna and Saraswati is positioned. Union is the most important aspect of love,
till then the love is not termed to be complete. From this holy land our hero
Shalinder is moving toward the big city for need of job which is his utmost
desire but his heart if full to the brim with love of Sangita. Sangita is the
heroin who is in her final year of college and the two are in love which is
accepted to all. The morals and the ethical values are centered in the story in
such a way that the rich culture of the then India is to be seen which has
changed with the span of time. The characters of this story are all real-time
ones; of many are alive, but few of them are nowhere to be seen in this mortal
world. The desires of all the character is displayed in a way which is too
close to the roots of India and will make the reader to feel the essence of
Allahabad and Delhi, the two cities being the centers in this story.
The
actual life style of Allahabad which is narrated by most writers in Hindi language
is present in this story which is not being narrative, but still gives an
impression as if the reader is a part of the story. The life of Allahabad and
Delhi in the last decade of the twentieth century is described for the reader
which they can imagine for themselves while driving to office and back home on
busy roads of these cities, which are choked now, were smooth then.
Extracts
for the story:
Sitting
on the confluence of the two rivers–Ganga and Yamuna–Shalinder was looking at
the rising sun when the ago old fragrance of Mongra flower distracted his
attention. Turing toward his right and looking above his should he was waiting
for her to come, as usual.
