BJP MPs of Treasury Benches hold placards in the Lok Sabha

India made history when the Treasury benches MPs raised placards in the Lok Sabha for the first time during the Parliament Session. The BJP MPs raised placards against Rahul Gandhi demanding for his apologies over his wrong statement for the Rafale deal.

On December 18, 2018 the sixth day of the Winter Session of Parliament there was uproar from both the sides in Lok Sabha. BJP is in majority in the lower House of Indian Parliament. The Winter Session 2018 has been washed out for 5 consecutive days and it was on the sixth day when India made another history when the BJP lawmakers raised placards.

The BJP continued to target Rahul Gandhi over Supreme Court's verdict on Rafale deal, with party MPs demanding an apology from the Congress president in Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

The members of the Treasury benches help placards stated, "Rahul Gandhi maafi mange (Rahul Gandhi should apologise). The Opposition attacked with slogan "gali gali me shor hai, Modi sarkar chor hai" (everyone knows that Modi government is a thief).

A day before, it was demanded that the Congress president ought to apologize to the masses of the India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the armed forces post verdict by the Supreme Court over Rafale deal. This demand was raised by the Union minister Jitendra Singh stating that Rahul Gandhi’s is “exposed for telling lies" on the Rafale jet deal.

The Supreme Court on December 7 rejected the pleas challenging the deal among India and France of 36 Rafale planes. The court said that there was no evidence challenging the integrity in the process of decision making in the whole deal justifying to aside the agreement.

The Congress has more than once condemned the deal for the 36 Rafale planes, charging that the BJP government has increased the cost of each aircraft from Rs. 526 crore which was finalised by the UPA government to Rs. 1,670 crore each.
